Thaipusam |
This morning at sunrise I attended Thaipusam, a yearly Hindu-Festival. To honor Lord Murugan, Singapore devotees carry kavadis that are attached to the body with 108 hooks and spikes. Also, they pierce tounge and cheek as punishment for harsh talk. Background information is provided by Travel-Guide for Singapore. 28 May 2004 - Submission for Photo Friday's "Black and White". |
