This morning at sunrise I attended Thaipusam, a yearly Hindu-Festival. To honor Lord Murugan, Singapore devotees carry kavadis that are attached to the body with 108 hooks and spikes. Also, they pierce tounge and cheek as punishment for harsh talk.
